Splitting off from Musicians Conversations

Musicians Conversations was started by Jenn Christy in hopes of getting musicians and other people from the music industry together to chat and share resources. This is still going on and you can find out more about it by emailing musiciansconversations@yahoo.com or on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=1343424847&ref=ts

Those interested in a more formal or action-oriented agenda, such as starting a website, looking into a festival, etc. are welcome to join me (Emily Brown) in meeting and discussing goals for musicians in Bloomington.

We will be hosting two meetings on Tuesday, April 28 at Rachael's Cafe. One at 12pm and one at 6pm.

We are surveying the needs/desires of Bloomington musicians. Our next meeting will take a look at these results and discuss the actions and goals this group can take to making Bloomington as musician friendly as possible.

Some of the suggestions of past meetings:

• a website geared toward musicians


• a local music festival


• advocacy for pay, getting local musicians into Bloomington events, like Taste of Bloomington and Lotus Fest


• Networking musicians with other people in the industry - booking agents, marketing and media specialists
